Support UHS

Welcome to University High School’s development office. Since the fall of 2001, we have grown and now enroll 496  9th through 12th grade students. UHS consistently places academically higher than all other San Joaquin valley high schools and routinely places in the top 20 in California. Our most recent API scores are 916 and the average UHS student SAT score is more than 100 points higher than the state and national average in all areas of the test. These results have placed University High School as the 10th best charter high school by “US News and World Report” and the 40th best public high school in the country.

UHS teaches a rigorous college preparatory, music and arts-enriched academic curriculum within a small school culture and has a safe and responsive community of engaged families, staff and faculty. For the past four years the college attendance rate out of high school has been 97% or better (each year students have gone into the military, Peace Corp or been an exchange student). Equally important, the school is serving the region’s diverse population. In 2009, students represented 45 different zip codes and nine different cities, as the schools’ demographics carefully matched those in the area.

Known for years as “Trailer Park High”, our school site operated in a maze of portable classrooms. Our new, state of the art building has help enhance our student’s educational experience as the building and its furnishings have been designed to do just that. Our school site is moving slightly east on the campus of California State University, Fresno. "University High School is a 501 (c) 3, IRS Non-Profit organization.  All your contributions are tax-deductible, allowable by the extent of the law."
