Working Together to Resolve Conflicts

At University High School, we recognize that conflicts and challenges can arise between students, staff, and families. As a small school with a proactive staff, we are here to listen and help resolve concerns.

Before submitting any forms below:
We ask that you first contact the school administration to schedule a meeting.

Most concerns can be addressed through our traditional conflict resolution and disciplinary procedures. Having a conversation with the administrative team allows us to address issues promptly and collaboratively.

Important Considerations

  • School-related issues: Is this concern within the school’s policies and authority?

  • Student conflicts: If the issue involves students, start with conflict mediation or counseling with the student’s counselor. If discipline may be required, contact the Vice Principal.

  • Social media or off-campus issues: Some situations may not fall under school discipline, but support and guidance can still be provided. Contact the Vice Principal.

  • Curriculum, grades, or assignments: Begin with the teacher. If unresolved, meet with the student’s counselor.

  • Classroom concerns with a teacher: First address the teacher directly. If unresolved, contact the student’s counselor.

Charter School Complaint Notice

Use this form if your concern relates to enrollment or disenrollment policies not aligned with State charter requirements. Most conflicts can be resolved by first speaking with the teacher, counselor, and school administration. This notice is submitted to the Fresno Unified School District, which holds the charter but does not oversee campus policies or procedures.

Uniform Complaint Procedures (UCP)

File this form if the school has violated federal or state laws affecting access to programs such as Compensatory Education, LCAP, PE instructional minutes, pupil fees, or school safety plans. Please review the policy carefully and contact the school administration before submitting.

Title IX

Title IX is a federal law that ensures students and employees are treated equally and fairly, free from discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity. This law addresses situations of unlawful discrimination—not typical student conflicts. Please contact the administration first to explore traditional conflict resolution options.
