Digital Art Submissions Policy

• To keep judging fair for all participants, the following requirements now apply to digital entries:

  • All imagery must be created by the artist.The content of the image — its subjects, composition, and rendering — must be the artist's own work. Standard touch-up and editing tools (color correction, cropping, cleanup, background removal) are permitted. Artwork generated in whole or in part by AI image generators or AI "generative" features is not eligible.

• Process documentation is required. Each digital entry must include one of the following:

  • A minimum of three progress images showing the work at different stages (e.g., initial sketch, midpoint, final), or

  • A time-lapse recording of the work's creation (such as those created automatically by Procreate), or

  • The original working file with layers intact (.psd, .procreate, or similar).

• Digital entries submitted without process documentation will not be eligible for judging.

• Digital Artists may be asked about their work. PA may ask finalists to briefly discuss their creative choices and process.

• These requirements apply to digital entries only. Traditional media entries are unaffected.

• Questions about whether a specific tool or technique is permitted should be directed to pa.uhs@yahoo.com before the submission deadline.
